7 May 2008 - Network Box, a managed security company, today releases ‘Live Watch‘ Trace functionality for its range of unified threat management (UTM) products as part of its ongoing development programme for its customers. The tool allows network administrators to monitor the websites that employees are accessing, during any time period, and set filters for inappropriate sites such as those featuring adult content or violence, for example.
The web filter categories are set by SurfControl, an OEM partner of Network Box.
The ‘trace’ functionality has been added to the Mail, Web Proxy, Firewall and IDP modules to permit administrators real-time access to online user behaviour.
The 'live watch' mode allows the administrator to set the filter conditions, and view the traffic in real-time from the user interface, my.network-box.com. Administrators can also view in ‘historical’ mode to monitor past online user activity. Any potential threats arising from users viewing inappropriate content are highlighted using a colour coding system.
The new functionality will be rolled out to all existing and new customers, running the NBRS-3.0 operating systems as part of Network Box’s managed security service.
