Security Specialist Urges Businesses To Have A Contingency Plan in Place For All Corporate Travellers
The Anvil Group, a specialist in crisis avoidance services, today issues advice to global businesses in light of the earthquake that hit the city of Chengdu in the Sichuan Province of China two days ago. With business travel increasing to emerging markets and ‘high risk’ territories, businesses must be sure to asses the associated risks of travel as well as ensuring crisis management and business continuity plans are up to date to ensure the safety and security of their employees.
In case of natural disasters such as the Chengdu earthquake, businesses must be able to react quickly and identify travellers that are, or may soon be in harms way.
“The loss of life and infrastructure caused by the Chengdu earthquake has been devastating; hence it is important for businesses to be aware of employees that are affected by the situation. It is imperative that the employer establishes routes of communication with all employees to determine the level of response and aid required,” explains The Anvil Group Director, Matthew Judge
For businesses with large numbers of travellers, systems such as The Anvil Group’s Employee Travel Monitoring Solution (ETMS) and Travel Risk Intelligence System (TRIS) are key to identify employees that are already at a location and those who are en route or due to depart. Through TRIS and its alerting features, businesses can be alerted to incidents such as natural disasters as-and-when they happen. Through TRIS, subscribers can visualise the location of incidents and determine the effects to assets, being facilities or travellers that might be affected by the circumstances.
Judge adds, “By utilising solutions, such as our ETMS and TRIS, organisations have all risk and traveller details at their fingertips and are able initiate incident responses immediately. Businesses simply cannot afford the ‘It won’t happen to me attitude’ anymore.”
