InfoGuard expands range of Multilink/Multiprotocol Encryption Devices to meet the need for lower bandwidths and tighter budgets
Market leading portfolio of multiprotocol encryption devices adds cost effective protection for lower port density and low bandwidth networks.
Zug/Switzerland, 4th February 2010 - InfoGuard AG, the Swiss expert in high-performance encryption solutions, has expanded its range of innovative Multilink/Multiprotocol Encryption devices with additional cost effective products, offering lower port densities, serving lower performance ranges and supporting legacy E1 links.
The new InfoGuard MG4 is a 4 Port Multilink Encryption solution that supports any number of Ethernet, Fibre Channel and/or FICON signals up to a total speed of 2.5 Gbps (STM-16). The unit offers traffic shaping, allowing each individual Ethernet connection to be optimized based on bandwidth in 50 or 150Mbps increments.
Furthermore InfoGuard launches MG10S, a 10 Port Ethernet and E1 Encryption device, offering cost effective protection of up to 10 different Ethernet (Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet) and E1 connections up to a total speed of 2.5 Gbps (STM 16).
In common with the MG10, InfoGuards top of the range device, both new products offer full-duplex AES 256 Bit encryption with automatic key change after configurable interval without link loss and meet FIPS 140-2 Level 3 requirements.
InfoGuard’s Multilink/Multiprotocol Encryption devices separate Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel or FICON input signals at the client side, to be encrypted and transmitted over a single transmission link. Customers operating several Gigabit Ethernet channels between two sites can now consolidate these into one high speed CWDM, DWDM, Dark Fibre or SDH transmission path, providing a highly cost-efficient network security solution together with network consolidation.
“By offering a lower port density and lower speed products, we are helping to address the needs of customers with legacy technology still in use and who see the value in consolidating but need to ensure the security of data in transit, “explains Thomas Meier, CEO of InfoGuard, “The two new models are competitively priced yet offer the same core features as our award winning MG10 product.”
InfoGuard encryption devices are fully transparent within the network. Their outstanding performance, i.e. 100% encryption throughput, and their minimal latency make it possible to use the devices even in time-critical applications and in heavy-load links. All InfoGuard products are developed strictly in accordance with the FIPS 140-2 level 3 requirements within our ISO 9001:2000 environment in Switzerland.
Meier highlights the security and management challenges faced by organisations that have to transmit a mixture of different network and storage protocols between sites or data centers. The expanded InfoGuard Multilink/Multiprotocol Encryption range which combines Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and FICON at a flexible port density with speeds from 2.5 Gbps to 10 Gbps allows customers to easily change input speed and protocol enabling users to customise their current and future security requirements. The built-in traffic shaping technologies allows the easier integration of larger branches into a cost effective WAN strategy.
InfoGuard products have been explicitly designed for longevity and require almost no maintenance. In order to guarantee uninterrupted service at all times, the devices are equipped with a redundant, hot swappable power supply in a tamper proof chassis.
In the UK, the two new MG products will be made available to InfoGuard partners via distributors Focus Europe and Avnet. Pete Smith, Operations Director from Focus Europe added, “Flexibility both in terms of speed and port density is a vital requirement for many customers and InfoGuard’s new products are a welcomed addition to a market leading portfolio.”
InfoGuard’s customer base includes financial services, public sector, telecommunication providers, health care and manufacturing industries. The new enhanced MG range is priced between 34,000 and 63,000 Euros and is available immediately through global distribution with a flexible range of maintenance and support services delivered by an accredited partner community.
