Shavlik Technologies, LLC, a market leader in simplifying and automating critical IT operations, has been shortlisted as a finalist for two categories of the SC Awards Europe. Shavlik NetChk Protect has been shortlisted for both the Best Anti-Malware Award for its integrated Antivirus + Antispyware introduced in April 2009 and in SC Award’s newest category, Best Secure Virtualisation Solution, for its offline and online patch management, asset discovery and information catalogue capabilities introduced in August 2009. Both award submissions were made on the strength of the growing demand from Shavlik customers to integrate and simplify more critical to perform operational security tasks with the company’s industry leading patch management engine.

“Ignoring the rule book on product categories, we have developed the functionality within Shavlik NetChk Protect to reflect the IT administrator’s holistic concerns,” says Mark Shavlik, CEO and founder Shavlik Technologies, LLC. “We have been able to build on our inherent strengths to discover assets, including offline virtual machines, and provide administrators with the asset discovery and information they need to catalogue and manage new imperatives to further simplify the complex task of computer and security management.”

Listening to its customers’ frustrations, Shavlik partnered with Sunbelt Technologies to integrate technically advanced antivirus, antispyware, and anti-root kit functionality with its world-class patch management solution. The result, a powerful all-in-one solution that is quicker and lighter on system resources than most stand alone antivirus products, helping companies that had yet to prioritise patching PCs to include this as they upgrade to a more advanced anti-malware solution.

Shavlik NetChk Protect is also the first and only solution offering the ability to detect, assess and proactively patch and update virtual and physical assets in a single process - ensuring all machines – physical or virtual, including offline virtual machines – are identified, secured and tracked across their lifecycle. It’s also the only patch solution to integrate targeted capacity and failover management for the physical host.

The final winners will be announced Tuesday 27th April at a ceremony to be held at the Wyndham Grand London in Chelsea Harbour.
